Our approach
Accessibility is a continuing practice, not a one-time feature. We aim to make the Amazha website understandable, navigable, and usable for the widest possible audience, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, alternative input methods, zoom, and personal display preferences.
What the website includes
- Semantic page structure, descriptive labels, heading hierarchy, and skip links.
- Keyboard-visible focus indicators and keyboard support for navigation, FAQ sections, dialogs, and controls.
- Responsive layouts, readable type, a site-level light or dark appearance choice, and support for reduced motion.
- Meaningful alternative text for relevant images and a deliberate restriction on non-essential decorative imagery.
- English and Kurdish right-to-left website experiences.
Accessibility tools
The site includes the free, open-source Sienna accessibility widget. Use the floating accessibility control to choose tools that work best for you, including text-size adjustments, contrast and colour controls, dyslexia-friendly reading support, text highlighting, a reading guide, reduced animation, and a larger cursor. The widget is client-side and does not require an account.
Known limits
Accessibility tools can improve the visitor experience, but they do not replace accessible source content or user testing. We continue to improve page structure, language quality, and interaction design as the website develops.
